Nace en 1978 en Medellín (Colombia). Ingeniera, Msc en Ciencias de la Tierra. Diploma en Didáctica de la Literatura Infantil y Juvenil en la universidad San Buenaventura, diploma en Gestión Bibliotecaria en la universidad Alberto Hurtado de Chile. Actualmente es Doctora en Literatura en la Universidad de Antioquia con una tesis Magna Cum Laude sobre las Poéticas quechuas en la obra de José María Arguedas, para ello hubo un proceso bello y fuerte en la universidad de la mano del profesor Vivas Hurtado y   un fuerte trabajo de investigación con una pasantía en Alemania, en la Universidad Freie en Berlín. Actualmente es profesora de Español y literatura en Luisiana State University (LSU), en los estados Unidos.

 

 

Entre sus publicaciones están: Bajo la piel (2007), Lunas de sombra (2010), Hacía el Pacífico (2015), Cartografía de la lluvia (2016), El pozo de la infancia (2018). Otras obras publicadas se encuentran inmersas en Ellas escriben en Medellín (2017), Poesía colombiana del siglo XX escrita por mujeres (2014) e Historias que no son cuento: experiencias de lectura y escritura de Medellín (2014). En su último libro Aquellas mujeres en Miniatura (Pigmalión 2019) libro se aventura a la narrativa con 19 historias de mujeres de su ciudad. En este nuevo libro presenta su experiencia de vida a través de lo vivido y sentido al explorar el mundo ancestral de los Andes latinoamericanos. Su ultimo libro Titulado Wayrayaripay (El sonido del viento)  ha sido publicado  en el 2023 por la Editorial Valparayso NY y se encuentra en versión trilingue: Inglés, quechua, Español.

Actualmente es profesora de Español y literatura en Luisiana State University (LSU).

 

Sus últimos libros han sido publicados por la Editorial Sial Pigmalión España. Sus libros se han presentado en España, París, Colombia, Perú, entre otros. Poemas suyos han sido traducidos al inglés, francés y al portugués.

Was born in 1978 in Medellin (Colombia). Engineer, MSc in Earth Sciences. She has a diploma in Didactics of Children's and Youth Literature from the San Buenaventura University, a diploma in Library Management from the Alberto Hurtado University in Chile. She has a PhD in Literature from Antioquia University, with a Magna Cum Laude thesis on the Quechua Poetics present in the work of José María Arguedas.  While working on her thesis she went through a beautiful and strong research process at the university led by Professor Vivas Hurtado, and she also did a lot of hard research, thanks to a scholarship, in Germany, at the Freie University in Berlin. She is currently a professor of Spanish and literature at Louisiana State University (LSU), in the United States.

Some of her published books are: Under the skin (2007), Lunas de sombra (2010), Towards the Pacific (2015), Cartography of the rain (2016), The well of childhood (2018). Other published works are Women write in Medellín (2017), Colombian poetry of the twentieth century written by women (2014) and Stories that are not stories: experiences of reading and writing in Medellín (2014).  In her latest book, Those Women in Miniature (Pygmalion 2019), she ventures into a prose work with 19 stories of women from her city. In this new book she presents her life experience of what she lived and felt in the ancestral world of the Latin American Andes. Her latest books have been published by Editorial Sial Pigmalión in Spain. His latest book titled Wayrayaripay ( The sound of the wind() has been published in 2023 by Editorial Valparayso NY and is in a trilingual version: English, Quechua, Spanish.

 

Her books have been presented in countries like Spain, France, Colombia, Peru, among others. Her poems have been translated into English, French and Portuguese.
